This morning we would like to welcome two of our talented Outdoor Research Athletes, Bayard Russell and Bryan Gilmore. It is great to have them back!

Bayard loves teaching the finer points of climbing technique and tactics. He is psyched on all forms of climbing from adventuring to the most obscurest corners of the New Hampshire forest to traveling across remote Alaskan glaciers. He has ticked off up-side-down M11 and traditionally protected, multi-pitch M9 always with laughs and good friends. Whether you want to try your hand at mountaineering on Mt Washington, scratch around on mixed terrain, or learn the basics of ice climbing movement, Bayard is always psyched to share his experience and love for the outdoors. Join him for Friday’s Intro To Steep Ice and we know you will be cruising up W15 with a handful of Bayard’s tips and tricks.

We would also like to welcome back OR Athlete Bryan Gilmore! When he’s not sending big in Patagonia or Chamonix he spends his time with his lovely daughter, teaching her the about the great outdoors. This committed dad sure makes the most of his climbing time!

Bryan initially focused solely on ground-up trad climbing, but when some friends introduced him the the wonderful world of sport climbing he witnessed great personal growth in all the varied disciplines climbing can offer. Now residing in Boston, he is one of New England’s mixed climbing masters! Join him for any of the following clinics OR’s Mixed 101  or OR Steep Ice. Remember to book soon because they are filling up quickly!Outdoor_research_0023
