FRIDAY NIGHT, JAN. 31st, 2014:

American Alpine Club’s Live Your Dream Silent Auction:  Raising funds for the Live Your Dream Grant!  Score BIG on gear and support climbers dreams and aspirations!  An amazing program that the AAC facilitates!

Opening Show:  Jeff Longcor, Jeff  was one of the 2013 grant recipients for the AAC Live Your Dream Grant.  His opening show is about an awe-inspiring tale of young, unprofessional climbers living their dream of attempting unclimbed peaks in the Djangart Region of Southeastern Kyrgyzstan.  An awesome adventure with superb brotherhood partnership!  Truly inspiring!

Featured Presentation:  BARRY BLANCHARD, Barry is one of North America’s top alpinists, noted for pushing the standards of highly technical, high-risk alpine climbing in the Canadian Rockies and the Himalayas.  His show this evening is called AMG- Alpinism, Guiding and Making Hollywood Movies.  This man is a LEGEND!  Don’t miss this show!


Opening Show:  Majka Burhardt, Majka  is a writer, professional climber, guide, speaker, and a bad ass ice climber!  She is now officially a North Conway resident, yeah!  Her show is about being scared, trying hard, wussing out, and dreaming big: aka: a New England Love Letter, on ice.  This should be AWESOME!

Featured Presentation:  TIM EMMETT, Tim is famous for his infectious enthusiasm. One of the UK’s best climbers, and now living in British Colombia full time, Tim is as happy on rock as ice.  Tim’s show is called ’The Perfect Storm’ – A portrait of Helmcken Falls with the climbs and adventures across the globe, leading up to it.  This guys is known to be full of life, crazy ascents, and an amazing energy and zest for life!  Don’t miss this show!

Live Band:  Local and rockin’ band Rek’lis will be playing after Tim Emmett’s show into the night!  Hang, chat, dance, and enjoy the evening!  Not to mention that professional aerialist will be performing while they play!  WHOA!

Both evenings are held at Theater In The Wood, just for miles north of IME on Route 16!  We have 3 kegs of beer from our amazing beer sponsor Tuckerman Brewing Co., but encourage you to BYOB too!  The kegs get kicked pretty quick!  And please CARPOOL!

DOORS OPEN AT 6:30pm, $10 for each evening!  SCORE!  And AAC Members get in for $5 on FRIDAY night only.  And if you sign up to be an AAC member that evening, you get in for FREE on Friday night!

FOOD!  The Big Love Burrito Truck will be at Theater In The Wood starting at 6:30pm both evenings!  Just grab dinner with them!  Nom nom nom!
