There are so many great ways to give back at Ice Fest this year, besides shining your lovely smile at others.  You can donate climbing shoes to KISMET, register as a bone marrow donor on Friday and Saturday evening during Apres at IME, hit up the silent auction benefiting AAC on Friday night at Theater in the Woods, and buy an OR T-shirt!

  • KISMET ROCK FOUNDATION will be accepting lightly used climbing shoes at Friday and Saturday night at Theater in the Woods.  Be sure to introduce yourself to the new Executive Director, Chad Laflamme, and ask questions about their wonderful program!  KISMET gives children the opportunity to climb, who otherwise would never have the chance.

  • Don’t Miss the AAC Silent Auction! We’re thrilled to announce the American Alpine Club Silent Auction happening at Ice Fest on Friday Night February 5th. All proceeds will go towards funding the AAC’s Live your Dream Grant.  The MWV Ice Fest is partnering with the American Alpine Club to support northeastern climbers through the LIVE YOUR DREAM Grant. Here at the Ice Fest we’re always brainstorming how to keep inspiring the Northeast climbing community and we love that the AAC Northeast shares the same goals!  The purpose of the Live Your Dream grant is to support and promote unforgettable experiences for climbers. These experiences aim to provide the skills and confidence to realize one’s climbing ambitions; to dream big, to grow as a climber, and to inspire others. The grant seeks to fund individuals or an individual of a small team of all ages and experience levels, as well as a range of climbing disciplines (including but not limited to: bouldering, sport & trad climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, ski mountaineering, peak running, exploration—you name it). So grab a friend or three, a dream big, and send in an application!

  • Delete Blood Cancer are giving you the chance to save the life of a blood cancer patient searching for a bone marrow transplant.  Only 4 out of 10 patients searching will ever find the match they need, but you can help change those odds.  It only takes the swab of a cheek to see if you could be a life-saving match for a patient in need!  Register as a bone marrow donor on Friday and Saturday from 3:30pm-6pm at IME!

  • We always love giving back to the local climbing community at the Mount Washington Valley Ice Fest when we can!  This year, Outdoor Research wanted to do the same!  Thus, we are excited to announce they will be selling limited edition Outdoor Research t-shirts during the Ice Fest to help raise money for the local Mountain Rescue Service (aka “MRS”)! What is MRS? The Mountain Rescue Service provides specialized technical teams comprised of world-class guides and climbers who volunteer their time and expertise in the service of hikers and climbers who need assistance, in and around the White Mountains of New Hampshire.  The team is ‘on call’ 24 hours per day, all seasons, with volunteers being mobilized for a full range of incidents: complicated multi-day and nighttime searches in the depth of winter throughout the White Mountain National Forest; technical rope rescues on the region’s many rock climbing cliffs; swift water rescue assistance; and lift evacuations at area ski resorts. We are so psyched Outdoor Research wants to help this local non-profit, and here is the t-shirt they will be selling to do so! Thank you OR!
