We are very excited to welcome back Alain Comeau to Ice Fest! This local guide has been working as an instructor and guide since the early 70’s, climbing from New Zealand to Africa, and extensively in the European Alps.
He will be teaching Sundays Snow and Ice Anchor Clinic! If you are planing on venturing into the big mountains or onto glaciers, then this clinic is for you! Alain will teach about construction and equalization of anchor systems for both snow and ice climbing. This hands on course will have you placing your own gear, creating anchors and putting them to the test! Topics will include ice screws, bollards, v –threads use of terrain features for ice, pickets, flukes, ice axes, natural features and assorted buried deadman anchors such as a backpack or skis for snow. You won’t want to miss this clinic!
